I've had this website now for 2 years and despite chopping and changing a lot of it a few times, I was never truly happy with how it looked. I wanted it to show the luxury side of the shoes I make, but nothing really did them justice.
So, recently I was playing around with different backgrounds and at the same time, I took a break to look at a website to see if there was something I wanted to buy for myself as a treat. As I was there, I noticed that the whole website had a luxurious feel, and that's what I wanted.
BLACK!!!
Why hadn't I thought of that earlier?! And, with the playing around with different backgrounds, I posted in a Facebook group, and I got feedback that the majority of the people there preferred the black background as it showcased the shoes better.
I decided to start taking new photos of as many products as I could and then slowly change the photos on here and Etsy. As I was changing them, something still wasn't right.
Finally it clicked, I need A BIG CHANGE.
I then went bold and changed my whole website to being black, white and yellow. Striking colours, with a luxurious feel.
Now, my crystallised shoes and bags are shown off better and I personally think the major design change of the website is much better!
I am really hoping people will find my website, stay on it longer and treat themselves to some fabulous products. But, I have enjoyed changing my website about and I've also spent more term learning about SEO and H1 tags and H2 tags... WOW, so much to take in to try and make all of the pages seen more.
I'm one to refuse help when it comes to these types of things, especially if I can save money. The amount of scam emails I get about this website and how I should be paying some person to do it all for me, is ridiculous. If they were genuine, I wouldn't mind so much.
Anyway! If anyone actually reads these blogs, what do you think of the new design?
